Father's Day is just two days away and this weekend thousands of Canadians will participate in a walk/run in honor of those who have suffered from prostate cancer. The 5k run will take place at Ashbridges Bay park on Father's Day, June 19th. Registration begins at 8 AM and families are encouraged to share their stories and support on Safeway's website in the inspiration section. The actual race will begin at 10 AM and all proceeds go to various prostate cancer organizations; donations can be made on their website.

Wendy's is hosting their 5th annual Frosty weekend, June 18th and 19th. Whenever customers purchase one of there famous frostys they will donate $.50 to Wendy's Wonderful Kids program which helps finds permanent adoptive families for foster children. This program is a division of the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption and their goal is to raise over $1.7 million dollars in adoption funds. New to the to the 2011 Father's Day promotion is Wendy's Facebook "check-in" campaign, where they will give $.50 for every Facebook smartphone application check-in they receive during the weekend. The promotion is active in four provinces in Canada.
